No amount of glitz from disco balls and glitter of evening attire could out shine the guest of honor at the Warminster Rotary Gala on Saturday, November 12, 2011.

Andrew Kocher was the recipient of this year's monetary gift from Warminster Rotary. The proceeds of the gala will provide much needed exercise equipment for Andrew. At 18 months old Andrew was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy.

Cerebral Palsy is not a disease, it is a brain injury. At this time there is no cure. People with CP can have a significant amount of limitations including but not limited to spaticity of muscles, walking (gait) problems and many people will endure several surgeries as thier bodies mature and thier limbs grow. Most CP specialist's agree that exercise is critical to improve thier patient's health, fitness, quality of life and ability to perform daily tasks on thier own.

Andrew and his charming brother, Kevin and his lovely sister, Morgan were groovin' to the beats on the dance floor. There was never a sign of limitation as we observed Andrew sporting his moves even when it was difficult for him to keep up with his partner's, he never gave up.

What a testimony to the power of the human spirit and power of a loving family.

Although most of us left without a basket of Cheer, all of us left with a cheerful memory of a very special friend, Andrew Kocher.
