This award if also known as Club Rotarian of the Year Award and only one individual in the entire district of 1400 Rotarians is recognized with this award.  I am proud that our very own Nello Ianieri is that Rotarian and we should all be proud he is a member of the Warminster Rotary Club.

No matter what it is that is needed, Nello is there to make it happen! Nello is an active participant in ALL of the club’s service projects which include beautification projects in parks, scholarship selection committee, food drives and raffles sales. Nello organized the food drive collection efforts and made sure all the food was counted and delivered to Philabundance. Nello also participated in the club’s efforts to support the District Rotaplast committee’s annual online and televised auction, driving all over the area collecting and delivering items. Nello’s contributions also include participation in all fundraisers, including those which find the club’s Polio Eradication Pledge and contributions to TRF’s Annual Fund. While not being the named leader or committee chairperson for a project, Nello is always one of the few who volunteers in a critical role to ensure the project is a success and all club goals are met.

Nello routinely encourages new members to become more involved in all the various activities our club sponsors. By engaging the membership, he helps to ensure our club continues to retain members and is able to continue having an impact on the local community. Nello continues to surpass the minimum required 50% attendance…he has had several years in a row of perfect attendance.

As a local business owner, Nello has built his landscape and nursery business on the high ethical standards which Rotary encourages in all its members. I have seen him go out of his way to help others in need, utilizing his business expertise to beautify the community and help individual homeowners. He has also been a terrific Rotary mentor to me in my role as club president, helping me with all the little details. I can always bounce ideas off of Nello and can expect honest and true feedback.

This year Nello has been recognized by our club a fourth time with a Paul Harris which is amazing when you realize his first was awarded only a few years ago in 2008. I remember last year at Charter Night, our past-president Katie Farrell mentioned how he personifies a true Rotarian. He is never looking for recognition for what he does and epitomizes service above self. No matter what, the Warminster Rotary club can count on Nello.
